How to choose a gift they'll actually love

For her

Treat her to the little luxuries she'd never buy herself. A silk set for slow mornings, a soft wool scarf for cold commutes, or a piece of jewellery she'll wear every day. If you're unsure of her size, accessories are the safest place to start.

For him

Buying for him doesn't have to mean socks. Think quality he'll notice: a leather laptop sleeve for the office, a pocket square to finish a suit, or a grooming gift set he'll actually use. A flannel overshirt is the one piece of clothing that's hard to get wrong.

For the home

A beautiful scented candle is the easiest good gift there is. It suits hosts, housewarmings, thank-yous and anyone who's hard to buy for. Pick a fresh scent like sea salt and mint for spring and summer, or something warmer like cassis and vanilla for the colder months.

For little ones

For a new arrival, soft baby sets in natural fabrics are always welcome. Buy a size up so they get plenty of wear. For slightly bigger ones, a statement jacket, a playful hair bow or a keepsake toy makes a gift that parents love too.
